Military Police arrest soldier seen in viral pharmacy assault video.

The Ghana Military Police has arrested Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Williams Mensah of the Ghana Air Force in connection with a viral video depicting him assaulting a pharmacist and a female customer at e-PRIDE Chemist, located near Burma Camp in Accra.

Overview of the Incident

The assault occurred on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after WO1 Mensah, in civilian clothing, became enraged when the pharmacist explained that medication previously purchased was non-refundable. He had demanded a refund of GH¢65 for a dewormer medication. CCTV footage shows him physically assaulting both the pharmacist and a female customer who attempted to record the incident

The pharmacist who was working at the e-PRIDE Chemist, near Burma Camp, Accra, Ghana and a female customer (reportedly the daughter of a two-star military general). Both victims received medical attention and are cooperating with investigations.

 The viral video sparked widespread condemnation across social media, with many Ghanaians decrying the violence and abuse of power.

Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) confirmed the arrest, condemned the actions of WO1 Mensah, and stated that such behaviour would not be tolerated. They assured the public that they would not shield any soldier involved in misconduct and emphasized their commitment to discipline.
