Ghana Qualifies for the 2026 World Cup.
Ghana has officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the fifth African nation to earn a direct berth in the expanded 48-team tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars clinched their place with a commanding performance in CAF Group I, finishing atop the table with an unbeaten home record. A decisive 1-0 victory over Comoros on October 12, 2025, sealed qualification, courtesy of Mohammed Kudus’ second-half strike.

Under coach Otto Addo, Ghana accumulated 19 points from nine matches, showcasing resilience and tactical discipline against strong contenders, including Mali and Madagascar.
This marks Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance and their first since 2014. The qualification comes as a significant boost following the team’s absence from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Key contributors included Thomas Partey’s midfield dominance, Antoine Semenyo’s flair, and Jordan Ayew’s veteran leadership. The squad’s blend of Premier League experience and emerging talent positions Ghana as a competitive force on the global stage.
With the draw approaching, expectations are high for a strong showing in 2026.
